KAULI VAAST WINS GOLD IN TAHITI

During the night, Kauli Vaast made history.

The young surfer won the competition of his life, at home in Tahiti, offering to France its first gold medal in the discipline.

For his first participation in the most prestigious international competition, the native of the Pacific Island qualified in the semi-final against the Peruvian Alonso Correa, whom he eliminated thanks to his perfect knowledge of the spot.

Kauli then faced Jack Robinson in the final. Driven by the incredible energy of the Mana, he scored 2 waves rated 9.50 and 8.17 and leave his opponent behind with a single wave of 7.83.
Kauli Vaast won the gold medal in surfing in Tahiti this Monday, August 5th, a historic and symbolic victory.

Born in Papeete in 2002, Kauli Vaast won the WSL Junior European champion title three times. In 2023, he participated in the World Surfing Games, cementing his reputation on the international stage.

At only 22 years old, he is now the first French gold medalist in surfing.

    CONGRATS KAULI !
